STRAND-Asia imparts SPSS Roles in Academic Excellence in Visayas Region

The Strategic Research and Development Center, Inc. (STRAND-Asia) conducted a seminar with a theme “Leveraging Data-Driven Solutions for Academic Excellence”, held at the Eastern Visayas State University in Tacloban, Leyte on July 27, 2011.

The seminar improved participants’ knowledge with IBM-SPSS and its various academic applications. The event also showcased the value of different data management and statistical analyses using IBM-SPSS.

About 30 instructors and deans, representing different colleges and universities in Eastern Visayas, participated in the seminar. Ms. Jewel V. Brosas presented the basic SPSS procedures like accessing of different data sources in IBM-SPSS, creating and editing charts, and running tabular reports and descriptive statistics. Mr. Ryan R. Aga discussed the different applications of IBM-SPSS in Academe like program evaluation, innovative data collection, relationship between EQ and IQ, students profiling, forecasting, item analysis, and qualitative analysis using IBM-SPSS Text Analytics for Surveys.
