About SPSS in the Philippines

SPSS is distributed and managed in the Philippines by The Asia-Pacific Centre for Research (ACRE), Inc.  ACRE profile is available in the internet (http://www.acreinc.net). The company began distributing SPSS products in 1990, a year after it was established. SPSS is a leader in business intelligence, especially data mining, as well as three vertical markets: survey/market research, quality improvement and scientific research. SPSS products and services transform organizations by helping users leverage information to improve processes that increase revenues and reduce costs. To date, a little less than 200 organizations in the Philippines use SPSS software to create and distribute information for better decision making. Client segments are government, academic institutions, banks, insurance, telecommunications, healthcare, research and manufacturing companies.

SPSS has been a leader in data analysis for more than three decades. SPSS has won the following awards: named No. 28 in DM Review’s Data Warehouse Top 100; placed No. 21 on the 1998 Softletter 100, a ranking of the top 199 personal computer software companies in the United States; and No. 87 in the 1998 Software 500, a ranking of the world’s largest software vendors by Software Magazine. Headquartered in Chicago, SPSS has offices and distributors around the world.

2009 Key Programs/Initiatives

1. Coordinating with partners and value-added resellers
2. Positioning its solutions in five vertical markets – banking and finance, telecommunications, retail, pharmaceutical, and BPO (call centers)
3. Getting a head start in government by conducting regular orientation and training
4. Developing human resources in the areas of predictive analytics, business intelligence, statistics, training and consulting
5. Setting up an account management system that is responsive to the needs of account managers and peculiarities of the market

2009 Target

There is a thriving market for SPSS in the Philippines amidst global recession. More companies are beginning to engage in predictive analytic applications such as credit risk rating, churn analysis, CRM, claims management and financial reporting.
